The team at Manypenny Murphy Architecture is thrilled to announce that we have been selected to design the new Town of Madbury Public Library. The selection committee reported that they "were impressed with [our] enthusiasm for [the] project and the time and effort [we] made to learn about Madbury and the importance of the library to [their] small town." Madbury is unique in having what we believe to be the only public library in New Hampshire founded in the 21st century; it was started by a group of residents in 2001.
Our conceptual design for the project focused on bridging New England vernacular architecture and a design appropriate for 21st century use. Our intent is to foster a clear connection with the beautiful wooded site and establish the library as a community anchor. We appreciate the important role the Madbury Public Library will play in the town’s evolution, and look forward to seeing where the design process takes us!
