We're very proud to share that Brian was recognized last night by the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast as the 'Business Leader' of the year. Wow. The award was presented at the annual celebration, a gathering that acknowledged business and community leaders and featured a keynote presentation by our friend and City Councilor Rebecca Perkins.
Brian was commended for his work on the 'Portsmouth Housing Huddle', a new committee of the Workforce Housing Coalition that brings together leaders from local housing advocates and non-profits, design professionals, the Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce, the NH Housing Finance Authority and Portsmouth City Council. The huddle's mission is the assess current roadblocks to workforce housing development and take collective action to overcome them. WHC Executive Director Robin Comstock noted that Brian was "the right person at the right time" for this group and has been instrumental in developing one of the Huddle's first tools - a survey that over 350 residents and workers in the Portsmouth community have completed. It you haven't responded to the survey yet, please go do so here!
WHC applauded Brian's "can-do spirit" and concluded "Brian is an exceptional example of productive and results oriented volunteerism at its best. This spirit advances objectives and the mission, but it also set a standard for what volunteerism in the business community can be, and what it can accomplish!"
